Black Affordable Futures with Black-Led Community Land Trusts

Have you heard? Across Canada, Black communities are creating opportunities for affordable housing and vibrant commercial spaces through community land trusts.

From Hogan’s Alley in Vancouver to Upper Hammonds Plains in Halifax, community land trusts are enabling transformative Black community development.

In May of 2024, the Canadian Network of Community Land Trusts led a delegation of these organizations on a tour of across the United States to learn how Black communities are fostering transformative change through collective land ownership.
